The UT Office of Bioenergy Programs is responsible for coordinating a wide array of research related to biomass and bioenergy within the UT Institute of Agriculture. Faculty and staff within OBP and the Institute are working many diverse areas that seek to address issues and problems related to bioenergy production. - Forest Products Center
- At the University of Tennessee's Forest Products Center, the development of information and technology to advance the efficient and effective use of the forest resource. Forest Products Center faculty and staff are conducting research related to woody crop production, conversion of biomass into fuel and products, composite bioproducts, and other areas.
- Southeastern Regional Sun Grant Center
- The Institute of Agriculture is host to the Southeastern Sun Center, one of five regional centers funded by federal agencies to conduct biomass, bioenergy, and bioproducts research. The Center coordinates feedstock research, operates a competitive research grant program, and conducts a variety of educational programs.
- UTIA Bioenergy Task Force
- This task force has been charged by the Institute's Vice President to develop a strategic plan for biomass and bioenergy research within the Institute. The task focrce is made up of faculty representatives.
- UTIA Tech Transfer (Coming Soon)
- An important part of any research and development program is the transfer of research knowledge to practice. Tech transfer occurs through field days, presentation, and other methods.
- UTIA Research Equipment Reservations
- The Office of Bioenergy Programs is proud to house several research tools for the benefit of the Institute of Agriculture. The equipment is open to researchers at the University and their partners. As equipment is added, you will be able to reserve equipment for periods of time for research
